Feminization
Transgender patients present significant challenges for plastic surgeons. In our office, we provide the following procedures.

Augmentation – Although breast becomes enlarged on being female hormones, often they are not large enough, and many patients request augmentation.

Masculine features of the face, such as prominent forehead bone, cheek bone, or jaw and chin bone can be contoured to soften the appearance. These procedures change the shape of the facial bones to achieve more feminine appearances.
See GalleryForehead Contouring/Reduction
The eyes, eyebrows, and forehead are likely the most important areas in presenting gender. Masculine foreheads typically have a heavy bony ridge in the area just above the eyes and the beneath the eyebrows. Forehead contouring and reduction surgery involves shaping the forehead bones and orbital bones to remove the ridge, open up the appearance of the eyes, and create a more naturally feminine, softer appearance.
Jaw Contouring/Reduction
Contouring the jawline makes the whole face look narrower and thus more feminine.
Buccal Fat Pad Removal
Reduction of cheek fat, to eliminate round, puffy cheeks and create better facial definition.
Chondrolaryngoplasty / Adam’s Apple Removal
This procedure is the surgical reduction of the Adam’s Apple, creating a more feminine neck contour. Additionally, rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty are commonly performed to further augment the improvement in feminine appearances.
Rhinoplasty
Nose reshaping can reduce the size, width, profile (remove humps or depressions), nasal tip, and nostril shape.
