Labial puff - As you age, the labia majora (outer lips) may lose the tone and become wrinkled. Pumping up the labia majora will make the area look plump and full, more youthful, and healthy. This can be done by simply injecting fillers to the labia, although temporary. For more permanent solution, you may consider fat injection.
Labia plasty ...
The patient is a 48-year-old female who, on a routine mammography, was found to have suspicious area in the right breast, which was found to be cancer on biopsy. Forehead contouring for the transgender female is one of challenging but rewarding part of the facial feminization. Forehead contouring is often combined with hairline alteration. I usually use tissue expander to allow me to bring hairline about an inch. Particularly interesting thing about this procedure is we can shave down the bossing over the brow area aggressively and significantly. Once we expose the forehead bone, the anterior table of the frontal sinus is removed and then, we do the trimming of the forehead ridge. This trimming extends all the way to the lateral orbital rim (outs...
I just came back from Ethiopia mission trip. I went to Arce Negele General Hospital and Medical College, in Ethiopia. It is located in a small town in Southern Ethiopia, about 200 km south of Addis Ababa. My friend, Dr Hinika, is from the area, and he built the hospital and medical college with the help of Ethiopia HealthAid (EHA). During the last trip in November 2017, I worked with the local surgeons and taught basic plastic surgery procedures. This time, I wanted to meet with the medical students. There are about 25 medical students, all first year, (the school opened it doo...

My dear friend, Dr Gudata Hinika, had a big dream of building a hospital in the rural Ethiopia where he grew up. It took many years of hard work, but finally Negele Arsi General Hospital and Medical College opened its door to the community in July 2017. Dr Hinika, a general surgeon/trauma surgeon in Los Angeles, asked me to undertake the first educational trip to the hospital, work with the local surgeons, transfer the knowledge and skills to them so that they will be sufficient to provide the care to the community. They have three general surgeons, who covered general surgery, trau...
Ballaké Sissoko is a Mali-born kora player. Kora is a traditional West African harp. It has a half spherical wound at the bottom as a resonator and a wooden stick that holds the strings. It was January 2011 in New York when I saw him play. GlobalFest 2011 at Webster Hall in NYC. Ballaké and Vincent played at the stage in the first floor, an intimate venue, with mesmerizingly beautiful melodies and rhythms. I was so drawn to their music, which I thought they were the highlight of that night's festival. They had the first album at that time, Chamber Music. Since then, Ball...
