Patients who has lost a large amount of body weight, by diet and exercising or by a bariatric surgery, present with a large amount of excess skin of the stomach, hips, back, buttocks, as well as arms and thighs. These patients often require multiple procedures to remove the excess skin and soft tissue, and contour the body in more natural, and aesthetic shape. Depending upon the severity of the excess skin, we offer a wide range of the procedures.
Abdominoplasty / Dermolipectomy
Excess skin of the abdomen, extending to the hips and back, are removed to achieve smooth contour of the trunk. When rolls are present in the hips and back, a circumferential removal of the skin of the trunk is recommended. When doing so, if the buttocks are saggy and flaccid, the roll of skin and fat can be placed under the buttock skin to increase the size of the buttock and make the buttocks rounder and lifted (autologous buttock augmentation, not to be confused with Brazilian buttock lift – fat injection).
