Open Heart Mission 2017

I met Dr Chris Nguyen and Dr Sandy Ratner in 2004 when we participated Project Vietnam's mission trip to Lang Song, Vietnam.  Since then, I went to Vietnam with Project Vietnam team several times.  Meantime, Chris and Sandy founded Open Heart Foundation to work with the Odonto-Maxillo Facial Hospital of the Ho Chi Minh City.  They travel to HCM City every fall to work with the local surgeons and medical staff at the Odonto-Maxillo Facial Hospital, teaching orthognathic surgery, and cleft lip and palate procedures.  This is their tenth anniversary.  Two years ago, I joined their team for ...

The Red Shoes

Went to see Mathew Borne's new ballet production, The Red Shoes, at Ahmanson Ttheater, last night.  I have seen his productions in the past, including Swan Lake, Cinderella, and Edward Scissorhands, and thoroughly enjoyed his shows.  His productions are very elegant, witty, and humorous at the same time.  This time, he took on the old UK film, The Red Shoes, from 1940s.  The story of love and passion is beautifully displayed with elegant yet powerful choreography.  Highly recommend this show to anyone who is interested in dance and ballet.  Also, the stage production and lighting are sup...
